Companies talk a big game about transparency but rarely walk the walk. Why? Because transparency is hard, and companies have historically shied away from "hard things".
But we like challenges. So: we will always be ruthlessly candid, even when it requires us to admit mistakes.
When we first started on the app, we were two people working out of a living room. When Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, we realized that we urgently needed to create an encryption method that would protect users.
Today, we have a privacy policy that describes how we collect, use, and disclose your data, and an upgraded security system managed by Rownd, an authentication platform that stores your contact information for us so that we cannot associate your health data with your real-world identity. We're a company but we're also a bunch of people who *use* our own app, and who therefore have skin in the game. For this reason, we will continue to invest resources in maintaining protections for all users and their data.
